The first time I visited the state of Illinois was to visit my cousins in Chicago. I was quite little, but a few things stuck out to me. Tops of course was Lake Michigan. Being from Florida it seemed odd to me that people were actually playing beach volleyball this far North, but my cousins let me know that it is indeed one of their most popular sports! Wrigley Field was the next big hot spot for us to visit. Baseball has always been a bit boring to me, so my interest lingered to other areas.
Finally we hit the driving range at the Harborside International Golf Course in Chicago! Bam, I loved it. Great scenery and luscious greens made for a perfect evening. Even at such a young age I could appreciate a well put together golf course. Illinois while freezing cold in the Winter for us Florida boys comes alive in the summer.
